I got a postcard in the mail today, it is titled "Notice To Call" claiming they are holding a package for me (package allegedly contains a new Android tablet, but how and why would they know what is in MY package, and why are they opening up MY package?) and lists this phone number, 956-351-5231.
I've seen tv episodes where the police run a scam like this to get people to come in and claim their "prize" but when they show up they get arrested for outstanding warrants, unpaid tickets, etc. none of which apply to me.
I searched the company name, JAFI, LLC and nothing came up. I then searched the company name with their address, 1901 W US Expressway 83 Suite 800, Weslaco TX 78596, and still nothing. Then I searched only the address and got several hits.
It turns out they are Direct Buy, http://riograndevalley.directbuy.com/, so this postcard is nothing more than their deceptive marketing scam to get you to join their buying club.
Consumer Reports does not recommend them, http://www.consumerreports.org/cro/news/2007/ ... -save/index.htm
