I received a phone call this morning from EHS 1-800-217-4402, the gentlemen on the phone was Alex. He asked to speak with our Trade Show Coordinator, which I am. He then proceeded to speak very fast, and unclear. He stated he was calling about our room reservations for the American College of Veterinary Pathology Conference in Montreal, Canada November 16-20, at the Montreal Convention Center. When asked how he received my contact information, he explained that he was given a list of exhibitors for the show. After explaining to him that I would place him on a brief hold to confirm this information, he remained on the line to my surprise. Please note, this was the second time he had called. Our firm had not completed registration to attend the conference for 2013, but we did attend in 2012. I asked for his contact number, and he provided 1-800-515-2402 (which is a different number that the line he called me from). After I asked for the contact number for the conference, he hung up on me. I did a quick online search and got the contact information for the ACVP show, and spoke with a representative. She confirmed that our firm had not yet completed paperwork, and that registration had just been opened within the last few weeks. I have passed along the information about this Scam to the Exhibits coordinator. I sincerely hope that no one else attending the conference is tricked by EHS.

After calling the 1-800-515-2402 provided by Alex, I learned that his was another Scam. It is an automated answering service, where you answer a series of questions. The first question, asked if I was 55 years of age or older, of which I am not. Then it asks you to sign up to receive a $100 Voucher for top retailers, at the cost of $1.95, which they request your credit card. Once I opted out of the voucher, it advised that I didn't qualify and provided another 1-800 to call for assistance. I didn't bother calling this number.

As the call ended I decided to call back the number that Alex called from. I kindly asked to speak with Alex and informed him, that it was very rude of him to hang up on me, and that isn't good business practice. He made up excuses that the phone cut off. When I informed him that this was not the first time that I had spoke with him, nor was this the first time that he had hung up on me, he back pedaled and stated that he had never contacted me before. I advised him to stop calling, that I was not going to partake in their scams, and proceeded to hang up on him.

Immature maybe, however, I hope no one is fooled by this company. Do your research, and never assume what people are saying is true.
