I got a call this morning from a guy who was barely understandable claiming to have $7,000.00 in grant money and how would I like to collect it. He read my address to me and asked for my birthdate, which I stupidly gave him. I am back in school and thought it was related. He said his name was Stanley, his ID is ST711, and said I had 3 options to get the money. Cash, direct deposit to checking or credit to debit/credit card. I chose cash, I wasn't giving anyone my other info. He then told me to call 306-369-4375 and give him his id number to find out where I could pick up the money.
I first called my school to see if this was a program they know about, it wasn't. So I called the number and its disconnected.
