I was called by the above company wanting to sell my timeshare. After much talking and some checking on the internet I thought it was o. k. so I signed with the company on 3-20-13 to sell my timeshare. Charged $1,898.00 to my credit card which was required. On 6-28-13 Phillip Sato called and said that my timeshare was sold and I should receive $18,500.00
He then turned me over to a Daniel Logan in what was supposed to be the closing dept. Daniel told me that I needed to send $1,500.00 as the financing bank had made the loan for 20K and would not release the check until they received the $1,500.00 as the sale price was only $18,500.00
Then on Monday July 1, Daniel called me and gave me a confirmation code but I had to pay $1,000.00 to get the code activated. This could not be sent until July 2nd as it had to be by Western Union or Money Gram and I did not have that kind of cash on me until I could get to my bank. The $1,500.00 sent on June 28th was also sent by Money Gram.
Daniel Logan promised that I would receive my check by Fed X by Friday July 5th. Friday came, I heard nothing. I called and some lady told me because of the holiday it would be Monday the 8th before I received the check. Monday came and I heard nothing. I tried to call at least 6 times. The last time about 8:00 p. m. A Michael Pierce answered the phone. I told him what had happened from the beginning. He said he would check things out and call me on Thursday, the 11th and that I should receive my check no later than Friday, the 12th of July. Thursday came, no phone call. Friday came no phone call. I have called numerous times and all I get is an answering machine saying it is the closing department and to leave a message. I have left several messages but no return phone calls.
The las couple calls I received around the first of July showed up as Fort Hood, OR. on my ID Caller. The original calls was from Reno, NV. I have tried those phone numbers and they are no longer working numbers. I have tried to e-mail addresses I had for customer service in Reno and they are no longer any good.
So I have determined that this was all a big scam and I have lost $4,398.00 in the process. If there is anything I can do to recoupe this please let me know and I will be glad to do it. The Las Vegas address is the only address shown on any paperwork I have.
Sincerely,
Evelyn Sellers
