I shop at Dollar General at least once a week. Usually, I enjoy the experience and the employees. The closest DG to my home is the 3521 Ryan St. Lake Charles LA, store. Ms Vera, the store manager (I guess), is a lovely woman, smart, helpful, I'm sure a good employee. She gets a "great" in any survey.
The employee I've had problms with, I'll call "the old hag", dont know her name, Ms Vera would, that description only fits one employee. Decription is as follows, short, white, straight,cleanish grey, hair, bitter expression on her face, smokes outside the door.
On 7\01\13, I bought two packs of special-blend Marlboro cigarettes. On the sign and on the shelve they are marked as approx. $3.60\pack, I was charged $4.74\pack. As I was buying a number of things, I didn't catch it until I got home. I'm not trying to exchange or bring them back. I did and do have my register slip of proof of this incident. I brought it to the attention of the "hag" a few days later. She basically said, to bad, and quickly went to the cigarette case and removed the sign. She could not remove the prices marked on the shelve. So,I left. Tonight, I went back to the store and bought other items and at the register, I showed the young lady, the previous sales slip. She was fine, she looked at the prices marked for the special blends in the cigarette , they are specified on my sales slip. so, everythings good. Then the old "hag" comes over, saying she had already told me what was what, very ugly, and we even argued in raised voices. She took a hold of the sales slip and I had to grab it back.
If this was all, I'd say, Its only $2.00, but its not. Everyone in my family loves Dr Pepper. I come into the store all the time to purchase Dr Pepper. The DP company leaves coupons at the register for customers. Over and over, I have checked out with Dr Peppers, asked for coupons and if the "hag" is at the register, she says, "We don't have any". I know she's lied because I've come back to the store later in the day, and coupons have appeared, also I've been in earlier, seen a large roll of coupons. This has happened repeatedly. Anyway, she gets away with treating Dollar General customers badly, actually over-charging, lying to customers and she is always, 100% of the time, rude.I thought you should know. As fond as I am of Ms Vera, maybe she feels sorry for the hag. All of the other store employees are nice. But its not worth my, piece of mind, to ever shop where that old hag works again.
I can drive the extra 4 miles to another DG or shop elsewhere. Normally, I never call anyone a name, but I avoid this one, so old hag, is the best I can do here.
