When we purchased our 2008 BMW in January of 2012 we purchased an extended warranty through the dealership. Our station wagon had a remaining factory warranty but we encouraged to perches it just in case and we thought it was a good idea because it was a used car. We were told the the warranty covered most everything and as we read through it seemed like it did. Last year we started having problems with our transmission. We drooped the car at the dealer they repaired what they hoped was the problem. We continued to have problems with the transmission. The BMW service center diagnosed the car and retrieved a code. The code for the transmission is one that came up before, were informed it needed to be replaced. Our warranty, when you read it cover the transmission. AUL's certified automotive rep informed me the transmission must be torn down to failure before they pay for the repair. BMW dose not do that, when it is broken they replace it. I had to take the transmission to another shop that informed me the transmission was indeed of repair. I had the work performed AUL would not pay for the repair. The Tech told me that the rep laughed upon denying the clam. I was told there are no broken parts new transmissions don't break like the old ones did so that you can drive the car safely. He informed me the certified rep for AUL knows that to that is why he thought it was so funny. I think this a total ripoff. The transmission was broken in our car and we had to pay for the repair. I belive if AUL states they will pay for transmission repairs they should pay for it. Don't put in the contract you will, or state 1999 or older cars and trucks any other text is simply for deception.
