Complaint 235519 Details

My complaint is on behalf of a friend and as a warning to others.
This company appears on Google with Norton and other prefixes, so initially making anyone feel falsely reassured.

Absolute hours were spent on the phone and computer, exceeding a few.

An email receipt was issued!
As I have an account with 'Which' I checked with them today and discovered this scam.

My friend then contacted her bank to ensure this company does not access her account further. Even the person at the Bank claimed to have been scammed by them!

I contacted them and spoke to a person claiming to be the owner of GuruAid on their freephone number and he gave his name as Farham Jefferi. Disputed that his company were scammers. Said that the company is backed by the 'Better Business Bureau'.

Others spoken to on Saturday were a man who is nicknamed AJ and Suresh Patel.

My friend now is ensuring that whatever corruption installed remotely on her computer is removed from a reputable and person qualified with distinctions who resides in our home village. Then having any queries she has satisfied one on one.

Fortunately my friend does not use her computer much and so there is nothing on it that can be compromised at present but who knows in future and so she is going to take steps one on one to make sure it can't be in future.

The Bank have, apart from the payment of £199 which they can't stop now, placed a permanent block against this company claiming anymore from her account in future.

A semi satisfactory outcome but please everyone beware. Don't panic over your computer security by getting scammed! More haste, less speed. Preferably contact your local P.C. WORLD for advise or you provider!!
