We pureshed the bamboo flooring.Awaited delivery. The trackter trailer droped the flooring on the street in front of or house. My wife and myself with the help of next door neighbors helped in carrying the flooring into the living room of the house, were it sat for about 5 to 7 days before instalion.
The floor look beautiful. About a mounth and a half later the problems aperid. The first thing I notised was the one plank seperitiong then all of the floor cupping. We call customer service, they sent us a form to fill out and, told us to take some pictures of the floor, which we did.
About one week later we recived a letter saying that it was a instalition problem.
I then hired an independent cuitifed floor insptore at the cost to me $375.00 His results were not the instatlion but the flooring.
This company is just giveing me nothing. We did not make the flooring and we did not installe it,all we did is pay for it.

  • Hello David - I reviewed the case file and the documents you sent to Lumber Liquidators so we could investigate your issue. Sorry to hear there's been a problem. When asked if you read the warranty and installation instructions you left both spaces blank suggesting you never reviewed these critical documents to understand how to properly install the floor. The pictures CLEARLY show a cupped floor and the professional contractor you hired accepts no responsibility. Cupping is well known in the flooring industry as a problem driven by issues unrelated to the manufacturing of the product. The buckling and separation are also install concerns as the product does not come out of the box with this issue and the only cause is installation. Had you educated yourself prior to installation reviewing the documents, checked the credentials of the installer prior to work being performed, this could have been 100% avoided. This is not a sellers problem to solve and a costly error to make and we agree this must be very frustrating. The installer is at fault here and there is some responsibility on your part as well to understand your purchase and follow instructions. The complaint and fault in this case is misdirected and we encourage you to pursue the installer. As an industry professional and someone very educated on flooring situations, if you have a report that calls out the manufacturer for what I viewed in your photos, I would love to see because I seriously doubt a qualified inspector properly assessing this case would say cupping, buckling, and separation are manufacturing related. View the NWFA association website and see how they define this problem - the association is independent of all sellers and calls this out properly. Again - sorry this happened but we cannot accept responsibility for consumer / installer errors as no seller should be asked to pay for issues not under our direct control. Read the warranty, follow instructions, prescreen contractors - best advice

  • To whom it my concern,
First of all this e-mail was not signed.I have no idea who wrote it.Second, why would I read the installation instructions? I was not going to install the floor. As for the warranty I believe it states on the box something like 20 years or so, I still have a box and,why would anyone anticipate a problem in less than 2 months.
I have received one letter from Lumber Liquidators after the claim,John states on the letter dated 1/4/2013 "usually excessive moisture on the underside of the flooring" or " high humidity levels over 60% .
Now the last time I spoke with Derek on the phone he told me the humidity was to low.He even went so far as to me tell to get humidifiers for our home. So now I have three different responses from three different people why Lumber Liquidators will say anything they have too so they don't have to stand behind there product.
In regards to myself "educating myself" yes you are right. If I were to have done so I would have never considered doing business with Lumber Liquidators. All the complaints I have read on-line are accurate about LL. operation.
You need to get your act together, stand behind your product and take care of the customer-best advice
