Called Newsweek in December 2012 to cancel remaining 35 months of subscription. They said they had noted the cancellation and that I would expect to receive a refund in one to two months.

This is nonsense. There are no refunds.

I have contacted the State consumer affairs department and am writing to the US Justice department. This appears to be fraud on a huge scale.
