I was recently inquiring about a payday loan when I received a call from a person by the name of John Richmond who states he is the CEO of GE Money Bank stating that I am approved for a $2000 loan but would need to send in $120 for security deposit. I sent the funds through moneypak and then was contacted again for another $120 for taxes and to finish processing my loan. I sent the funds and was told that I would receieve my loan the next day but guess what I never did. I contacted the guy and he said because my credit score was so low that I would need to send in another $240 and they would western union my loan. While speaking with the guy I let him know that I recorded our call and I was going to the authorities to file a report and the guy hung up on me! Is there anything I can do to recieve the funds back?

  • We have come across several postings about this fruadulent activity and wanted to share this alert with you that these solicitations are not from GE Capital. GE Capital Retail Bank (formerly GE Money) does not make any personal loans through any prepaid cards, nor call or email customers asking for personal information to establish prepaid cards for personal loans. These are fraudulent activities and you should report this to your local authorities as a crime. You might also want to contact the federal trade commission at www.ftc.gov. I hope this message prevents others from providing any personal credit card or other financial information to people who call or email you about personal loans on prepaid cards.
