Building Home Contractors took a deposit for $620 on Sunday February 10, 2013 for garage remodeling. We signed a contract but specifically said they were to NOT disturb the neighbors without going to our house first. We had discussed the work with the neighbors (before signing the contract)since part of our garage wall is adjacent to their property.

By contract, the work was to begin February 18 and again, they were supposed to show up at our house. Instead, in violation of the contract, some most UNPROFESSIONAL man showed up at the neighbor's homes on Feb. 13 & 14, wandering around our neighbor's back yard. It scared the kids to death! On the 14th, one man approached a young girl alone in the house, asking for food or whatnot & saying he was with Diamond Home Builders.

When I called about the incident on the 13th, I was told there was nothing I could do since they had cashed the check. I told them well, don't go to the neighbor's house unless you stop at my house first ON THE 18th!!

After my stern phone call on the 13th, the same thing happened. Some looney guy (I don't know if it was the same one because I wasn't home because the work was supposed to START ON THE 18th) went wandering around the backyard. That was the incident on the 14th. He was knocking on the neighbor's house and otherwise harassing the kids.

They never showed up on the 18th to do anything. I think this was a scam to take our deposit money, violate the contract in such a way that they think we will just let it slide. This was a true scam.
Please let us know what we can do about it. We can provide specific name of the "Project Manager" that told me they would not refund our money even though the contract was not started, completed, and no work was done.
