On Aug. 11, 2011, I received a telemarketing call explaining a web based business opportunity. This company will design and set up your "store" website and set you up with stores it has partnership agreements with and then coach you on marketing and online selling skills. You receive a certain percentage back from the big retail marketers and you can choose to market your own product too. They sell different packages according to the number of "stores" you purchase and the coaching you get. The guy was a great salesman - He sold me a real "deal" - the regularly priced $499 Platinum package for $250.00. He said it was a no risk investment - I would have 90 days to try it out and if I didn't like it, I could get my money back. I "fell for it." My "coach" called me on the 5th day and proceeded to ask me how much credit would I be able to come up with on my credit cards and how much money did I have in savings, bank accounts, friends, etc. He said that we would build my business on OPM. That was it for me - I told him in no uncertain terms that I was opting out of the program. He was getting NO MORE MONEY from me. He said no problem - I would be reimbursed. This was only 5 days after signing up for the service. I knew according to the SMALL PRINT that I had to put it in writing, and so I did and sent my letter registered mail on Aug. 16th. They received it on Aug. 19 at 11:51 pm (according to my track and confirm). I called to see how my refund was being processed. I was told by "the answering service" that I would receive a call from the cancellation department that day. I waited, no call. I called again two days later - was told the same thing. I waited, no call. I received a call from another coach - this time he tried to convince me that we could build my business a little slower - by my investing smaller amounts of cash at a time. I told him that I wasn't interest - that I had already opted out and was waiting on my refund. He said that he would check on it for me :) - I called again a few days later - was told the "right department" would give me a call back. Waited, no call. I called again. The receptionist assured me that if no one else called, she would give me a call back with an update. No call. I called the next day and reminded her of what she had said and waited for her reply - which was, "well, I had no information for you." I have been calling every few days - all I hear is "let me take your number and someone will call you back." - and NO ONE has. Oh, I forgot - a third "coach" called and I reiterated my conversation with the previous coach. This third coach did some checking while I waited on the phone and he said that my refund would be processed. I asked him how much I would be getting, because I saw on the website, "minus processing fees" - and he told me that my refund would be $240.00 - remember I had just joined - had opted out after 5 days. Also, on my call on Sept. 19, I was told that my claim had processed. I've checked with Am. Ex. everyday - no posting of that to my account and when I called them yesterday there was no notation on my account of any pending refund from Quality Financials. I just called QF today and was told that the man in charge of "that dept." was out - I gave them my number again and was told he would call me today - I'm not holding my breath! I've been told that the department was in a meeting and someone would call me as soon as it was over too. I'd like to see this practice stopped before other people lose their money too. I only invested $250.00 and would like to see my $240.00 back, but more than that, want these people to know that they can't get away with this "business practice."
