I received a call from CC Recovery collection agency claiming that a former employee gave verbal authorization for directory listing with Yellow Pages Local Directory. I spoke to Lisa, a manger for CC Recovery, and tried to get the contact informaiton for Yellow Pages Local Directory so I could report them to the FTC. Lisa refused to give me any contact information and said we owed them money and they would collect. I told Lisa that collection on her part would be futile since I will not pay for this scam directory and if they pursue this I will report them and YPLD to the Federal Trade Commision for investigation. Lisa hung up on me. I have filed four reports with the FTC this year alone for similar scams and all four had to submit a letter in writing to me apologizing for the error and stating that we do not owe them money. This was the result of the FTC involvement in the cases. My suggestion to anyone having these problems with online Yellow Pages Directory scams, is to contact the Federal Trade Commision immediately and file a complaint.
