I am currently disputing this issue and hope to have it resolved BEFORE it goes to collection, as it appears is their habit. Christine, if you're reading this, please look into this situation and get it resolved, thanks!
Some domains I had registered with 1and1 came up for renewal on the 19th of November but I was not notified or invoiced-until a day after renewal when the PayPal payment, thankfully, didn't go through. I called them immediately. They were notified about three or four hours into the morning of the 20th. The billing department is telling me they will be billing me for the year anyway. I refuse to pay for a year of hosting when a) I wasn't invoiced until the day after renewal; and b) I cancelled moments after receiving the invoice, meaning; c) I'm being charged an entire year for five domains which I cancelled moments after receiving the invoice and about three hours—if that—after the domain would have expired.
I don't want to waste hours, even days, of my life arguing with support personnel—I don't have the time or the energy, but I will if I have to because I refuse to pay under such unreasonable circumstances.
