I am a class action attorney in California investigating WiMacTel's business practices. WiMacTel fails to disclose any rates or even a warning that credit card calls cost thousands of times more than coin calls. Instead it suggests you may be able to find out the rate through the phone. WiMacTel fails to realize that even a true stated is actionable under California's consumer protection laws it is is couched in such a manner as to deceive a reasonable consumer. Given the high number of complaints, reasonable consumers are no doubt being deceived. WiMacTel won't be the first telco to learn this expensive lesson.

- I'd like to be part of any class-action suit you file. I was just told by one "Natalie" at WiMacTel (when I called about a $31.46 charge to my credit card for a pay-phone charge in September 2012 -- an unsuccessful phone call from a pay phone at a deserted Amtrak drop-off platform) that there was some "Option 3" I could have pressed that would have explained everything to me as far as the exorbitant charges I would incur. !!? Right. I was standing in the rain at about 4:30 a.m. on a Saturday, with a dead cell phone, at a deserted Amtrak drop-off on the outskirts of a small town; I remember nothing about any Option 3, as I was desperate and failed even to connect with the taxi service. Then I saw a charge for $31.46 for this call on my bank statement! And the phone number for WiMacTel on my statement was (surprise) missing the last two digits. So I only just today Googled "WIMACTL" for a functional phone number, and I'm seeing all kinds of other complaints against WiMacTel. This is a fraudulent company. I either want my money back, plus compensation for my time and stress as I've tried to fix this, or stock in WiMacTel. These guys must be raking it in -- in a criminal way, of course, and by defrauding their customers -- but definitely making a lot of money!
