When water was spilled near my laptop, I immediately googled Apple tech support on my iPhone and called them. I just found out it wasn't Apple, but this scam Florida company instead.

At the time i thought I was speaking with Apple. The guy who answered took my laptop's serial number, "looked it up in the Apple database", told me it was out of warranty, then proceeded for the next 15 minutes to have me power laptop on and off. Then he said i should take it into the Apple store the next day, and put me on hold while he "called the Arlington Apple store" to get me an appointment. Alas, he tolde I'd have to call them in the morning.

He then asked if I wanted to pay at that moment, just $79.99, for 'data recovery'. I declined as I said I should see if the laptop could be repaired first.

The next morning when I took my laptop in, I of course learned that when water gets into electronics the NUMBER ONE thing to NOT do is turn the device on.

The laptop is dead, the Apple repair people said the corrosion was heavy and was caused by the laptop being powered on after water spilled on it.

I called these people tonight to complain, and this is when some smartass there laughed at me and told me they weren't Apple- and I should read Google more closely.

I then talked to an alleged 'supervisor', "David", who refused to tell me where the company is based, as it's "proprietary information." he then told me that since I'm not a paid member with them, there's "no way" I had that conversation with their tech help. He then hung up on me.

Total scammers, and I'm going after them with all I've got.

Avoid them and help me take 'em down.
