Yellow Page USA sent solicitation for their online directory via fax. They advertised a "free FB page", which should have been a warning. They even use the "Walking Fingers" logo, leading one to believe it is the actual YP, even though the fingers were pointing the wrong way. (Who would really notice...?) We thought it was just a confirmation of our YP listing, until we received an invoice for $1188 for 1 year's listing, payable in advance. When we called to cancel they told us that the fine print on the original fax said payment was expected in full within 10 days of sending in the request, even though the invoice was dated 19 days later and we had no opportunity to review the order for corrections, as is usually expected.
In checking to see the supposed "listing", we went to their site, looked under our business category and didn't find anything there. It was only when we typed in our actual business name, that a few lines showing our name, address and phone number showed up. (So how is this supposed to help us get customers,unless they know our name already??)
In doing some research (after the fact, unfortunately), we saw that this company is nothing but a scam, with numerous complaints filed with the BBB, the FTC and many state's Attorney Generals. They apparently are set-up in many states, but the Legal Head Office is in Dubai, UAE. We have not paid anything, but 7 days later, they sent another invoice demanding payment with an additional $25 "reminder" fee. Just getting ready to contact the FTC right now. Be forewarned - extremely deceptive marketing practices and products!
