We just bought a house and it is 2 weeks before our wedding and our fridge dies. Found a receipt that the prior owners had bought it from Sears in 2003. My fiance paid $270 and was told a service man would come out and either fix it up to $500 or would give us a credit of $500 to buy a new fridge from Sears. So we decide to go out tonight (8/31) and I had him call to check the dimensions. We now just found out that they need to get approval for it first and they are not even sure we will get approval for it but we cant go buy a fridge until they give us the credit. If we let them repair it he will not be here until next week (9/5) and the repair would cost another $236. That would be 10 days from my wedding and we are leaving for our honeymoon right after. He was told from the repairman that we would get the $500 no problem and was not told about having to get an approval. Sears is telling us since we did not give him a decision that day that it is undecided so nothing got done. so we called tonight 8/31 have been on hold for an hour and a half now and still have not had this problem resolved. When I do get someone Im going to tell them we either get the $500 or we get our refund of $270 and I never buy from sears again and if i get neither, im taking them to court. 2 weeks without a fridge people, comeoN! THATS INSANE.
