I Don't want money I just want the dogs rescued.....

Hi I am the adopter of Laura and before I start telling you about her journey, I would like to say I think there are a lot of good things that this organization is doing and has done, the volunteers are awesome but I don't feel they know everything that is going on with the organization. As an adopter my friend, veterinary & home had to be checked and inspected before Laura could be adopted by us,
Great Process! I was also told as an adopter I could not go to where Laura was staying for the last year, because it was best to meet her in a neutral area. My husband, friend and myself drove over 13 hours one way too meet Laura, first time my eyes saw her I knew she was ill, but I kept calm didn't say anything, I just wanted to rescue Laura from another bad situation. :-( I was heartbroken all the way home, we had a 13 hour drive ahead of us, I couldn't get Laura to our veterinary fast enough. Laura was in the veterinary office Monday morning, Dr Long was so appalled she said this is not the dog she is, she is a very sick animal, Dr Long said it is going to be a lot of hard work, but I think we can save her. Before we could come and get Laura I had to pay for a micro-chip that Laura supposedly had, Wendy Wheaton e mailed the micro-chip number & name of company so we could transfer Laura to us and the organization as 2nd owner. I called Avid the micro-chip company too do the transfer, the number provide to us did not match the dog, name, breed or color. So I e mailed Wendy Wheaton asking her what was going on, her respond was they must have written down the wrong number, she said have your dog scanned at the veterinary. This was great timing, because my husband was at the veterinary with Laura, they scanned her whole body twice and there was no chip. So of course again I e mailed Wendy Wheaton & also explained how ill Laura was, she told me I was ridiculous and that Laura has a chip & is not ill. I just want to make this clear Laura didn't just have normal things that you would get from housing a bunch of animals together that were getting well cared for, Laura is ill from being housed in feces & urine ect. Wendy Wheaton emailed again but this time with a threat that she was going to reclaim Laura and take me to court if we didn't get her micro-chip transferred within two weeks, very difficult when there isn't one, even though we paid for one. The next day my husband took this very ill dog to the animal shelter & the Human society to get her re-scanned again, keep in mind I was told I just have a random veterinary, Laura was scanned three more times, no micro-chip, I even went as far as contacting the veterinary that supposedly put in the micro-chip, they had no explanation for all this. Please pray for Laura to get better and all wheaten's in need, she will never leave our loving home. Bernice Roush

  • I am a volunteer for this rescue and have been for over 3 years. These accusations are appalling and false. There are not things happening that volunteers are not aware of. She even admits above that we are doing good things and that our process is great. She is missing some major details in her account of what happened and how it was handled by not only the rescue but herself. The biggest detail she missed is the continued harassment she has been doing to the rescue. She not only is doing it herself but she encourages others to do it as well... unfortunately these friends of hers are being misled by her on the whole situation.

    Before I was a volunteer I went through the same exact adoption process and even have had family members go through the same adoption process and there were no complaints at all. I am forever grateful for the rescue and Wendy for my furbaby and for giving me the opportunity to help save these wonderful dogs. She does nothing but give to the dogs in the rescue and it's such a shame that someone is being so malicious and can't find something positive to do with their time then try to harass a wonderful rescue and try to hinder and undermine all we have done and will continue to do.

  • Vet records don't lie, maybe you should look at the facts...I didn't say the volunteers are bad, I am appalled not one try to contact me to see the dog or see vet records ect.

  • It is very sad the volunteers didn't see Wendy's back yard before she cleaned it, maybe you should see the photo's Chief Seymour has, you would then know what the dogs were living in before I filed my complant.

  • I am a volunteer and past adopter with this group. I am very offended by this woman. We volunteers did see all the vet records for the dog in question. Apparently nothing better to do than lie about a group who has had over 800 successful and happy adoptions. Also, we were INFORMED BY YOU NOT TO CONTACT you and to only talk to your vet. We have not contacted you because you told us we not to do so. We are all very worried about this dog's welfare know that we know she is living with a woman who is unstable and a liar. We have offered to refund the money paid if the dog will be returned to the Rescue. As a matter of fact, we have volunteers in place to go get this dog asap. Either stop your complaining and lies or return the dog. I would think that your "friends" must be getting tired of your nonsense.

  • You have not seen all the vet records & pictures of the dog. You must me talking about your fake vet reports you have. I can't wait until you see your day in court, my dodocuments don't lie or do the Cheif of police in the city of Birmingham Missouri, it is so sad the great volunteers are blinded by this I am almost thinking this organization is not worried about the dogs at all but all will come out soon...This is not about money this is about the dogs welfare...It is so sad your volunteers didn't see your yard before you cleaned it or did one of the volunteers ask to see Laura when I made them aware of this situation....Sooooooo Sad......Laura will get her point out soon.

  • We invite Ms. Roush to show these pictures for everyone to see. Put up or shut up. Also, please learn the English language and how to spell. Interesting to note that this supposed vet giving the report is not the vet listed on the adoption application, maybe because a unscrupulous vet who would help her play games had to be found? We cannot not wait to see her "dododocuments" (LOL - Freudian Slip?) and respond to them with the truth. Our only hope is that this person did not go to the lengths of physically harming Laura in order to come up with some faked pictures. We are extremely worried about the health and welfare of this dog and what has been done to her to further a vendetta. It should also be noted that the Roush's have not complied with the terms of their adoption contract which has voided it and they do not legally own this dog. We will be seeking the return of the dog per the contract terms. We look forward to having our day in court and reclaiming the dog legally owned by the Rescue. As this person is obviously feeding on the attention (Munchausen by Proxy?) we will not comment on this any further - we will say what we have to say in court when they time comes.

  • Its funny how I offered our vet info and you didn't want it...I explained to you we had a new vet because of our past pet needing special care from someone that specialized in certain vet care...but we know how Wendy Wheaton works. Take peoples money don't spend it on the dogs, please see me in court I am sure Cheif Seymour would love to see you as well & other witnesses that were present at the time of pickup. Its nice to know you have traveled out of the country a couple of times this year had surgery to lose weight and just started a new job......I don't care about my spelling this is about dogs not my spelling, Laura is not able to speak and has ask me to speak for her....

  • I doubt that when we are finished with you, that you will be allowed to have any dogs. Let alone this baby be returned to you.

  • One more thing, I am not unstable maybe you are talking about yourself...If I was unstable I would have given Laura back to...So being I am stable, I care about not just Laura but all the dogs that are in your care, I just hope we get them away from you before another one dies...

  • So you admit you lied on your adoption application. If you were using this new vet when Ginger was alive then you should have listed this vet's office as your current vet. At the time of application (only a few months after Ginger passed) you were NOT using the vet listed. I am all finished with your attention getting. We are very concerned about Laura and if all you are going to do lie and not prove your statements then, I too have nothing else to comment on. I really believe that this is all about you not getting your way with the pick up time and location, and not about any sick dog. Again, we have many people ready to drop everything and come pick Laura up if all you are going to is concern yourself with trying to shut a successful rescue down. Your energy is being wasted. This is also my last posting. I have more important things to do than try to argue over your lies.

  • As what was on my application at that time was correct, we had been using two vets, we put the one on the application we have been using for years, they are also aware of Laura's condition but we have decided to us the specialized vet just in case Laura needed more attention...So there is no lie here...this is not about us coming to pick up the dog at your home, again do I need to say it again, its about the dogs & the condition Laura was in when she was picked up from your care. You had been caring for her over 1 year, this poor baby I feel for her and the others that are in your hands. I will work on this until I know the dogs are safe.

  • Lets get your facts straight. I have been to Mexico three times in three years, two on vacation and one on a honeymoon. I am blessed to have a husband that makes a very good salary so we can afford to do so. What my personal vacations or the fact that I decided to get a job outside the Rescue have to do with anything or are any of your business is beyond me but I have my credit card receipts so talk away, no better than your common gossip. Here is a new rumor for you - we are going back to Mexico next year and are hoping to be able to afford to go twice as we have more income now - GASP - call the authorities!

  • Wendy Wheaton the right people have the proof about Laura, maybe you need to talk to Chief Seymour, BBB, Attorney General, PETA, IRS, and other rescue leagues through out the states that had some dealings with you and know what your doing. See Wendy your mistake is when you threaten me. By the way Laura has no chip either....You registered a fake chip, I have already confirmed with Avid they know what's going on..One other thing I never said I didn't want to talk to the volunteers, in fact I hoping one of them contact me but now its too late. I will see you soon, I will make sure I have my video camera rolling because you won't be able to hold yours.

You have slander my name called me a mentally unstable person, you are spreading malicious and slanderous lies about me, when all I have done is be the voice for Laura with FACTS ONLY and TRUTH ONLY...Please watch the news and your mail.

  • Laura had a 2/5 body score, mucoid and crusting visible around both eyes and nares. Infested with fleas & Ticks, (Milary dermatitis, alopecia, pruritus) Whipworm and Hookworm eggs and camplobacter organisms in high quanity. Sink infection & intestinal infection,diarrhea, dehydrated and no micro chip, should I say more? These are the facts that have been turned over to the authorities with pictures and other documents. Yes its funny how you keep using fake names when the people telling the truth give their real name. Wendy Wheaton Cusick your turn will come soon, until then this should keep you busy doing your research.
