On April 17, 2011, I placed my order for the LeanSpa pills for which I was supposed to be able to use for a 30-day trial period -- BEFORE my account was to be charged $79.99. I received the pills and before my 30-day trial period was up, my account had been charged another $79.99 as if I had agreed to purchase the LeanSpa pills, which I had NOT. I decided right then that this was a very shady company and I was NOT going to have any further dealings with these scammers, and I proceeded to read up on the return policy so I could get the pill bottles returned and get my money refunded to me. This was the beginning of my nightmare. Luckily, I followed every step to the fullest in returning the merchandise - right down to returning the items by Federal Express so I would have a way of tracking the package. I didn't mind paying the $58.00 it cost me in shipment fees. I documented ALL the many phone calls I made with dates, times and names. I got a different "excuse" for why it was taking so long to be refunded my money each time I placed a call. And, yes, sometimes I was placed on hold for 30 minutes and MOST of the time it was LONGER. I did a LOT of investigating and figuring to try to get my money back. It seemed that my return package was received at a place called Fulfillmentworks, LLC (181 Marsh Hill Road, Orange, CT 06477 - the address shown on the return policy page), whose phone number is (203) 795-9320. This is merely the shipping and receiving company LeanSpa uses. In calling the Customer Service toll free number listed in their website, all I ever got from those people were excuses after excuses after excuses. They have been well-trained to shield the corporate office from having to deal with their irate customers. I went to the Connecticut Secretary of State website to see if there was in fact such a corporation called LeanSpa and found they were a legite business -- HOW, I do NOT UNDERSTAND. Nevertheless, I got a street address for LeanSpa and then did a reverse address look-up and got the phone number. Imagine that -- even though Customer Service was not "allowed" to give out such info -- a little perseverance paid off for me. LeanSpa's address is 420 East Main St, Bldg. 2, Suite 8, Branford, CT 06405, and their phone number is (203) 488-2558. I placed a call to this number and talked to the nicest lady requesting a status on my refund, to which she informed me that I was WAY overdue the refund check and after several apologies, she offered to send my request, which had been approved for refund on May 17, 2011, directly to the accounting department and hopefully my check would go out in the mail that Friday (Aug. 19th). To my amazement, TODAY, Aug. 25th, I received my refund check in the amount of $159.99!!!!! The check was drawn on a Wells Fargo Bank. I jumped in my car, drove to the closest Wells Fargo Bank, went inside and, believe it or not --- the funds were actually there and I cashed the check and will NEVER have ANYTHING further to do with those freakin rip-off vultures who need to be hung by the balls they seem to have grown to rip off the ordinary every-day people like they're doing. It should be against the law for them to scam the people like they are. I told each person I talked to that the company they were working for was the biggest fraud and that I didn't see how they slept at night from scamming as many people as they did and they deserved to GO DOWN for their actions. I hope people will take advantage of the information I was able to dig up and provide in this report and just MAYBE they will get THEIR money back as well. Screw that Customer Service bullcrap -- go straight to the corporate office. Good luck to everybody who tries the steps I took. Just make sure you have everything well-documented.
