I got scammed into going to an open house for Direct Buy for 2 days at Marriot and 100 dollars in restaurant dining.

Well the restaurant dining iin my area is only to a very small number of restaurants that I would consider undesireable. There are a lot more if I want to travel to them. There are some other alternatives to dining out that might work but I don't know yet.

What is a lot more upsetting is that my family was trying to go to a Marriot on vacation. We thought the terms would be reasonable but in my opinion they are not. If anyone gets an offer for 2 days at Marriot and that is the main reason you are going to the Direct Buy open house, you may want to reconsider.

Here are the terms as I understand it: (the complete terms probably would take a lawer to understand it) First of all, you can't use the hotel days on any weekends. Also, you can't go during the months of March, June, July and August! this is crazy but it gets even better.

You have to send them $50 ("refundable") in the form of a money order so you have to go to the bank for the money order and then send it with the registration form. If they were really trying to be helpful this could be done over the Internet with a credit card.

Then you are suppose to get a "travel request form". This is also a joke. On the form I was told I had to list 3 yes 3 separate travel dates that were at least 30 days apart. (remember not to hit the Summer, weekends or anywhere near a holiday). I hope they would try try to get you your first choice but I guess there is no guarantee. There are several other things that I could mention but I think you get the idea.

The company this goes through is Infinity Incentive Group. I called them as I tried to understand the difficult terms of this contract. They get very touchy if you call this a scam. In my view a scam is when something is presented as something it is not. In my view, this was presented as a no hassel way of getting 2 days at Marriott. It is not.
