My AC was not cooling the house properly so I found a flyer for a free AC service call repair and duct cleaning. I very personable young man showed up and said my unit was low on freon. So, he tells me I have a leak in the system and the system is 9 pounds low on freon. Mind you the system doesn't allow for more that 7.6 pounds total. He says he will fill it up for$490.00. I said to him verbatim "but if there is a leak and you don't fix it isn't the freon just going to leak out again?I was perplexed. He said I am under warranty and he will just stop by and fill it up again with freon. He's not able to fix it at this time. But he assured me I was under a one year warranty and could get free freon. I even had him speak to a friend on the phone who owns his own company to verify what he was saying about freon warranty. He continued to state that I was under warranty for free freon. I didn't think it made sense but I was so tired of sleepless nights due to the heat so I believed him. As I surmised the freon leaked again within a few weeks now when they returned they did not even search for a leak and refused to fill the system with freon as originally promised unless I would pay $900.00 to fix the leak. So now It would cost a total of $1391.00 to fill it up again and then come the next day to find and fix leak. Then I complained and the price went down to $750.00. Which would still be about $1250.00 to fix with the initial $491.00 of wasted freon. The funny part is when I said just give me my free freon they said maam that makes no sense. I said yes but that's what you did the first time filled the freon and didn't fix the leak.Essentially it's a freon scam they know it will leak out and you will need more with an expensive repair job. Sucked me in to being a sap and having to call back. I really felt taken advantage of. $491.00 into the sky! Of course I did not trust them to do any repair after that!! Then my friends husband could not find a leak he searched in the attic in the compressor and condensor using a neon dye kit. These guys were not very sophisticated. I saw them as freon attendants? Very disappointed. Spoke with the manager who was quite rude and wouldn't even provide his name.
