I received a check in the mail dated June 20. I didn't know what it was until I opened it; the envelope sat on my kitchen counter for weeks. I was so excited when I opened the envelope and saw the check I wanted to cash it right away. I went to one bank to pay off an overdraft so I could deposit the check. They told me they had to hold the check for 30 days to make sure the funds cleared. Then, I went to another bank to cash the check. They told me the check was fraudulent and they have received other checks like this one that had been returned. Companies like this should not get people's hopes up by sending them fake checks and have them thinking they won a little extra money. This company needs to pay these people for all of their stress and running around trying to cash a bogus check.
