IF YOU ARE SCAMMED, challenge the charge to your credit card company and file a complaint with your State Attorney General. I also refused to negotiate (for a friend) with Itechline for anything other than a full refund. They eventually complied.

First, I want to say that I am a retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer and don't much care for those that take advantage of others...in this case someone very close to me.

Here is a summary of the case:

1) My friend had a hard drive replaced and went to the internet to get help from
Norton (Symantec) to get the antivirus re-installed. My friend isn't computer savvy and chose a link to Itechline they thought was Norton. To the novice Itecline's link could appear to be Norton. They got to this link by Googling "Norton antivirus"

2) My friend called the phone number listed on the link and allowed Itechline access to her computer to reload Norton. Once in control of the computer Itechline informed her that someone had hacked into her computer! They caused great alarm and convinced her that for a mere 199.99 that could fix. Itechline sent her several DOS type pages as proof of this backdoor hacking. REMEMBER this is a brand new hard drive. They also convinced my friend that my own computer may have been hacked since we share the same router/wifi. This is when I got on the phone.

3) I had not been listening to the conversation up to this point but was aware that my friend was talking to Norton. I quizzed the rep on this and said that they were not Norton but represented/supported them. I got the impression they were Norton sub-contractors...live and learn.

4) I was sucked in and allowed them to also take over my computer where they also sent me some DOS screens flashing Red showing me that I had been hacked and had 7 active hacked connections. They volunteered to fix and started started to get around to $$$. I became very suspicious and closed down my computer connection.

5) I immediately contacted the real Symantec. They told me that Itechline has no affiliation with them and that I should be concerned. Symantec did run diagnostics on both our computers and could not find any back doors or other hacking problems with both our computers. Remember I refused to allow Itechline to do anything to my computer and my friend's was essentially brand new.

BE ASSERTIVE WITH ITECLINE IF YOU FEEL DEFRAUDED.w
