I was called by Vector Marketing right before I had to go into a doctor's appointment. The girl sounded incredibly young and she promised she would only be a minute.
Apparently one of my friends had recommended me for a job.
I am a polite person, so I sat and listened to this girl's spiel. She never asked me if I WANTED an interview or if I was even interested, she just asked me when I was available and if I could make it on the same day.
They told me my friend was currently a team member there, but I called my friend and found out she had in fact quit over two weeks ago. They still kept her information AND my information.
They told me the position was sales and I would be paid $17. They said it wasn't door-to-door selling or telemarketing, but I later learned that's EXACTLY what it is. They even made me try to buy their knives so I could have a sample kit!
I am so glad I did some snooping online. I cancelled my interview. The girl sounded like she couldn't have been older than 16. She had awful phone skills.
I feel so bad for the poor souls who got hired there.
