PCCare247 is a scam. They posed as being from Bitdefender antivirus support and scammed my older husband, saying that he should immediately have them take over his computer and take care of all the malware that they said he has on his computer. They charged him $200. Then they asked if other computers were on the same router because they were also infected. He got on my computer and then I came home from work and wondered what was happening. He explained that he was on the phone with Bitdefender and what they had said about our network being infected and full of malware and trojans.
I said "are you sure you are talking to Bitdefender" he said yes. PCCare then convinced me that I needed to fix my computer or my husbands would again be infected. So we agreed after their high pressure tactics to pay an additional $99.95 to take care of the problems. I was having no problems but they were convincing about the urgency of making sure our network was no longer infected. So we agreed to let them fix the issues, which of course didn't exist. Later when I tried to get the Credit card company to refund the charges they called PCCare247 and in a conference call they admitted that they only optimized my computer, checked the hard drive, and added CC Cleaner and other free antivirus software to my computer. They still claimed my husbands computer had problems. He did have problems for 2 days after they started "fixing his computer". I have been so stressed from this scam that I changed all my passwords and account numbers for anything related to financial business. I also bought a new computer for financial purposes, which I will not use for other internet activity, all because of this SCAM. The Credit card company requested the terms of PCCare247 agreement which they said they would send to my husbands email. They have not sent the terms. We were never given any terms, just high pressure bull. I think the urgency was so that both computers would be tied up with their "fixing" and we would'nt be able to see that it was a scam by checking it out on the internet first. PCCare lists phone numbers I think that it is time they are investigated for fraud.
