I topped up my son mobile with £10 so that he can call in case of emergency as he walks back from school. On that date, I topped it up and within 2 hours, the full £10 had vanished. Tried to get Orange involved, but they are not interested, they just pointed me to a company called MIG, who turned out to be another intermediary. They in turn pointed me to GRAZZUP, who told me we entered a competition to win an iPhone, for £10 a month, and that my son must have clicked on a confirm button and received an SMS confirmation. Not only can I not see this website in our Parental control software, but no SMS was sent. When I asked them for proof, they sent a JPEG image of the website at first, then when I complained it was no proof, they sent me an IP address that belong to another service provider in a town 40 miles away from here! And of course they are not interested to consider an error from their part, it is all my responsibility if my number is in their database. I just find it very hard to accept a company like Orange wash their hands clean of dubious companies using their systems (they bill through Orange) to rip off their customers. If a vendor scams you with your VISA/Matercard, they take responsibility and sort those people out and refund you. Right, now I am off to see if Ofcom is bothered.
