Contractors were excavating on Ashland Ave in Folcroft the full week of Feb. first to seventh. On Feb seventh the dug in front of all houses on Folcroft Side. The water was turned off and digging and drilling continued for part of the day. About and hour after our window on the side of the house shattered.
Their were no children playing no activity to warrant the window to shatter. I went outside to tell the men but they had already left the street. I later contacted Aqua water and a complaint was made to the contractor. For two weeks we heard nothing though they claim to have been here. Usually an appt is set up. I called Aqua two or three times which the rep said was not there fault and was agitated by my calls. Finally the contractor came looked at the window and informed me he would be back with a window to fix the problem. However he did not return. The company called me the next day said they would not fix it since it was more costly then they thought. He said I could not prove digging broke the window. He also to told me to call my homeoweners and they would deal with them. My homeoweres policy is $500.00 deductible. I want someone to know about this contractor. I have written a letter to Aqua and I am awaiting a response. This is clearing caused by the vibration of drilling. I would at least have it put on your records as bad business and hope they respond to my accusations. Thank you,
