Received call from Global Connect Cloud representative. Didn't get every detail because of his strong Indian accent and background call-center noise, but he said the company works for-with Microsoft, knew that I was using a Windows OS, and that it was in danger due to infection with virus or trojan. Started to walk me through something on my computer starting with having me type something in the Run window, but i started asking how i knew they were legitimate. He assured me that they worked with Microsoft, and told me i could go to their website, www.globalconnectcloud.com, to check them out, and that he would call back. The website exists, but looks amateurish to me. Also, I first googled 'global connect cloud' and quickly got to Scambook. He did call me back, and i told him of the scam reports and that i would take my chances with my anti-virus software and the extra support i paid for when i bought this computer, and i hung up.
