Just like many of you, saw online, 'no sex' escort agency, jumped at the chance for the large amounts of easy money. Called up, was told about the joining fee, went away to think about it after asking numerous questions. Everything seemed legit at this point. Was called twice after, from the same lady 'Sue' enquiring about my interest. After giving it some deep thought, i called back again and got an automated message telling ,me the person at end of extension blah blah was busy and to leave a message, which i did. Was then called back by someone called 'Jo' apologising for the lack of contact and that this 'Sue' was now away on maternity. After asking all the questions again, she arranged to call me with their bank details to make this payment of the joining fee. This was on 27/03/12. She also told me she would finish my profile during the week and would i be available for work theweekend, being 7th and 8th april (i told her yes), after agreeing to make the payment of £200 on 30/03/12. After making the payment into a NATWEST account, on the friday, she called me up in the afternoon thanking me for the money and making sure i was still free that said weekend. Still, up untill this point everything seemed genuine and legit. She was very friendly and helpful, didn't have cause to worry.
She called me twice during the week then, last time being wednesday 4th april, once again making sure i was free for the weekend and told me she would give me a call explaining what would happen, closer to the weekend. During this time had sent me an email with a link to my 'profile' - where i saw 8 pages!! of 'escorts'.
Since then, i had heard nothing. Still none the wiser, as i belived this was all legit, was waiting on a call that never came. Saturday morning, my sister googled 'amber companions' out of curiosity, as thought it was a bit weird i had heard nothing about what was supposed to happen that evening, and there found all the scam reports.
Needless to say, i am devastated, as im sure are all of you.
Unfortunately, it is bank holiday, so not much can be done of the moment, but first thing tuesday(10th april 2012) i will be visiting my local police station filing a report on the matter. I strongly suggest every single one of you do the same. Ive seen a few posts about being able to get the money back, possibly not from 'amber companions' but if we all stick together, maybe we could get something done about it. Afterall, THIS IS FRAUD!!!!!!!!!!!
I still have TWO contact telephone numbers for the 'company' and the emails that we have exchanged.
Good luck to all of you. I really hope something can be done about this.
