I answered an ad on craigslist for a job as Office Asst/File Clerk in Columbus, GA on 4/5/12. I received a reply to fill out a pre employment form, which I did. At the end it had something regarding a credit check/background check in which i approved. I want to know what can I do and if my information (credit/background) is affected and if it is how can I STOP this?

- Me and my sister also fell for this scam!!! After a lot of research we found out wellman is an affiliate with freecreditreport.com so they basically get paid for every time someone clicks on the URL they provide on the website. Just to be safe though, we contacted all three credit bureaus and froze our credit so no one can open accounts,loans,credit cards etc...last but not least contact creditreport because they will charge you after 9 days and be prepared to receive spam from your email...after that you should be fine. This was a total eye opener that this can happen to anyone!

- ***you signed up for a membership with freecreditreport that they will charge you for after 9 days so cancel it! "Wellman careers" will continue sending spam messages to your email.
