I got a letter today from county check services stating that I owe them an outstanding balance of $788.75 for ACE check cashing. Good thing I have all my backup paper work from the real collection agency and from ACE indicating that my account with them is PIF. I have to admit that they got me good a a year ago when they called me telling me that they were going to serve me with legal papers to sue me if I did not pay them at the end of the day. I did not pay them right then and there and instead I tooke their name and number and stalled them a few days by giving them a credit card number that was no longer active. LOL.. I did my research on the account I owed with ACE and they gave me the name and number of the agency they sold the account to. I called them and they were nice enought to send me a letter indicating that the account is paid. I also looked up the agency that was harrassing me and found out that they have changed their names serveral times in the past because they were being investigated by the DA's office. When they called me back I confronted them and told where to go. Now a year later they change their name again and are sending me another letter.
