I inquired about a new iMac on craigslist for $600. I got a reply from "Emily Bollinger." She sent pics of the computer, and then suggested a company to send it from Vancouver to California...myParcelDelivery. The process is that she ships out the computer, I send the money via Western Union, myParcelDelivery acts as a third party to hold the money, then when I OK the product after deliver and inspection, they release the money back to her. After I received an email verifying the shipment of the computer, I tried to track it, but received "No Match Found." That's when I started to google reviews about this company. (I had done this before, but googled "myParcelDelivery." This time, i googled "Vancouver myParcelDelivery.") I then came across this website. Too little, too late. I'm out $600.

looking at past reviews, she uses the same choice of words in her emails:

"I have the imac with me in Vancouver.
I was checking for a way to make the exchange from here to you in the US and I came across this option, which is a very good way to make this exchange.
It's provide by a company called myParcelDelivery and it will help us with this transaction.
They seem designed specifically for internet transactions, they handle both the payment and delivery part of this transaction. They seem pretty nice and trustworthy and they provide a service that we can use for our exchange.
The link below is from myParcelDelivery website and it explains their procedure. Please check the link and the procedure and let me know if you agree to the terms.

http://www.vanc-myparceldelivery.net/en_language.internet.transactions/index.html

With this procedure myParcelDelivery will deliver the imac to you, receive your payment and I will receive the payment for the imac only after you instruct them to do so.
I will pay the shipping.
Let me know if we can proceed.

Thanks."

I'll try to email myParcelDelivery tomorrow to try to get a refund, but it's highly unlikely that it'll happen

  • I also did the same thing today. this time her name was Emily Hopkins. i also did some research on the email domain "@mail-bcbc.com" which has also shown up for tons of fraudulent activity. they have a cheap little website for it as well.

I found a way to get my money back because I started to get cold feet after speaking with the lady from my local fred meyer western union desk.
so when I got home I decided to do some research, and this post confirmed it. everything that "Emily Hopkins" told me was in this post, and I was so angry.
I did some snooping around the Myparcel website and didnt even find a working phone number to call, and the customer support chat had "no available agents" even though I waited for a few hours!!
so then I looked up the number to Western Unions customer support, and went through the machine until I got to speak with an agent and I asked if there was any way that I could cancel my request.
he said he couldn't cancel it but he could offer a refund.
he asked for the MTCN and asked the sender's name, the reciever's name, and the state/country it was going to, to verify that this was the correct transaction and presto, all i had to do was go back to the western union desk and show them my reciept and i got a full refund of my soarly needed $600.
p.s. he could not refund the $50 service fee but its better than being out $650.
I really suggest that you try this and see if it is still possible to get your money back!

  • Hi, I'm the CEO of myparceldelivery.com - a legitimate and well known parcel delivery site in the UK.
Recently, some people have been running a scam via Gumtree and craigslist - creating websites such as:
    http://www.vanc-myparceldelivery.net/en_language.internet.transactions/index.html
    http:// us-myparceldelivery.net
(and a number of other extensions)
With the intention of defrauding customers by pretending to sell iPads and requiring payment via Western Union.
Our company - myParcelDelivery.com - is in NO WAY related to these scam websites with various prefixes.
MyParcelDelivery.com is a UK based courier comparison site and we do not sell ANY physical products or work with agents selling or arranging shipments of such products through our courier services. As a further note, we do NOT accept any form of payment through Western Union to a specific person. All payments on our website are through Paypal or recognized Credit / Debit cards.
As soon as we have become aware of any such sites adverting through Craiglist, Gumtree or other such sites, we have immediately contacted the company hosting the fraudulent site and provided evidence to prove that people are illegally exploiting our branding and content and asked them to remove the offending website. To date, we have closed over 10 of these domains.

We want to protect consumers from these scammers who are defrauding people and also tarnishing our good name by creating these fake sites. If anyone comes across any further sites of this nature, please contact us via http://www.myparceldelivery.com/contactus.aspx and we will put all our efforts into shutting down these fraudulent sites.

    Regards,

    Paul Haydock
    CEO, myParcelDelivery.com
