I received an email from Overstock Auctions today and when I opened it, it took me to another website, "Zbiddy". It looked interesting so I began looking at the site thinking I might find a nice birthday present, so I signed up and this is when the trouble began.

They Trick You
I have no recollection of having chosen any kind of package for $99, but after I submitted my registration which included my credit card information (I ignorantly thought it might be needed for purchases to be made – thought it operated like Ebay). Then an email came showing me I just paid $99.00 for bids. What! I hadn't chosen to pay for anything! This scared me as I had no idea how to use the site, so I thought to close this account.

This Company Has No Integrity Though Their Reps Are Nice
I clicked their ‘live chat” button, and explained that I didn't mean to purchase a bid for $99 and how could I receive a refund. After a few moments she kindly let me know she was unauthorized to give a refund and I would need to make a phone call. I doubted the integrity of her company right then and told her so. Immediately I called the land line and thought I had reached India, so hung up. The second time, I spoke with David who also struggled with his English, though he insisted they were in Florida.

Demand A Refund
45 minutes of an escalating conversation, David kept offering restaurant vouchers and free bids while I insisted a refund. I told him I would be searching the internet for reviews of his company which he assured me would be found good. So I began my search while we were on the phone.

Write Reviews in Forums Like This One
I let David know I would be writing reviews all over the Internet about this fraudulent company and asked how he could sleep at night after talking to so many dissatisfied, furious consumers about this fraud. I began reading to David what multitudes were saying: a repeat of my story, and more! This gave me more and more determination as I fully realized I hadn't knowingly clicked a bid package for $99 as the rep led me to believe, but truly I had been manipulated.

Contact Your Credit Card Company on the Back of Your Credit Card
I said I would be contacting my credit card bank which he said I shouldn't do as it would only complicate matters, but I told him I would ask my credit card company, and called anyway. I have now read others who said the same thing.

Don't Waste Your Time Talking to a Supervisor
By the time I was done with the call I knew that speaking with a Supervisor would have done me no good for this was a corrupt company-wide procedure, not just a bad customer service rep. Everytime he began his sales pitch I interrupted him, demanded a refund - again and again. They are trained to keep their cool, but I didn't care to keep mine!

How to Get A Refund
An hour after I got off the phone, I received a notice in my email that I would receive a refund with 5-7 days. I now believe that if I receive it, its because I stood my ground and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Also it appears that when you tell them you will contact your credit card company that this also motivates a refund. Others have used their "terms of service" and have gotten a refund, located at the bottom of their Home page, #3 Bid Purchasing for Online Bidding / Payment; paragraph #3 about refunds.

Bidding Also Appears Fraudulent
Others complain that when they didn’t receive a refund, they then tried bidding on items, and other problems surround this portion of involvement as well. If you don't use your bids within a time period, they remove them. Some never receive their purchases, while others believe Zbiddy bots bid on items to raise prices. So everything about Zbiddy sounds fraudulent.

What Will We Do
Though I have been told I will be refunded, I will wait to see it happen. My credit card bank will be notified as soon as it shows up on my bill. And I will continue to notify the public of this fraudulent company. What concerns me the most is how many people have made complaints since 2011 and this company still exists, some even mentioned Facebook has promoted the company. True or not, this is something we as the public need to become aware of. We must work to make sure things of this nature stop, rather than leave our complaint – only to be read by another victim - after the fact.

I look forward to seeing justice done to such crooks, but this is just one on the list of multitudes. I don’t even want to begin on the cell phone companies.

I hope this site is the key to seeing this justice.

Hoping the Best!

  • Dear Zbiddy,

Please re-read my post. #1 I never selected a package level - and this is the #1 complaint of others who Zbiddy has violated. Search the internet and find the multitudes of complaints on the multiple complaint websites. As a Customer Service agent you would be 1st to know this, as you sit all day offering vouchers to people like myself.

My credit card was never charged the $99, and I can only assume it was because I threatened to contact my credit card company and cancel the charge. Others who have done this have had the same results.

You should be ashamed of yourself lying and stealing from the public in such ways.

  • The friendly agents did not resolve my issue. They would not refund me the entire amount. I had to file with the BBB, the Florida Attny general and file a dispute with my credit card company. The customer service people need to say they are sorry there was a misunderstanding with their flawed website and refund the upset customer the entire amount when they call. Not keep them on hold for 30 minutes, and then give them a scripted response. Just do what's right and refund the money.

  • I filed the above complaint with the FL BBB today and requested retribution - see below. This is my receipt.

Thank you for using the Better Business Bureau's Online Complaint System.

Your complaint has been assigned case # 90146539.

    Filed on : April 12 2012

    Ecom Interactive, LLC
    2200 SW 10th St.
    Deerfield Beach FL 33442

    Your Desired Resolution:

    To Whom It May Concern;

I would request a settlement of the following for the harm done by this company. For me I would ask for the restaurant vouchers offered me, and $1000 for all the time and trouble I was put me through to receive a refund and for time to report this fraud all over the internet. I am requesting that Zbiddy search the internet for complaints against their company and for every one they fraudulently charged, they repay 10x the amount for their theft, deception, harrassment and manipulation of their consumers. Some were even unemployed and elderly.

For every bad product purchased, it be replaced with the the real product. If they were overcharged, reimbursed 10x the amount overcharged. That bots, as some suspect or otherwise, be stopped in the raising the bid to overcharge the consumer.

And lastly, after all this is done, that Zbiddy be shut down for fraud and theft and be exposed as such. I will be posting this letter on every complaint forum I can find so the unassuming public will be made better aware of their rights against such fraud.

    Thank you, Terri

  • Very fraudulant! In everyway, all one has to do is read the reviews posted all over the internet. Consistently, they turn up not what they claim to be. Though I will admit the agent was friendly that worked with me, his friendliness didn't mask the reality that zbiddy took my money without my consent.

    Reviewscams must work for zbiddy.

  • Terri, I had that issue. My fault maybe because it was 4am in the morning and I was super tired I may have missed the packages. I was upset when I was charged $99 and lord knows my husband was definently angry with me it took all he had not to yell. I called them this morning and asked for a reund and the lady was trying to tell me that for the package I ordered it was a 'special package for the special price of $99 and not eligible for a refund" I was angry to the point of tears at first that my hubby had to take over and she told him the same crap that she could give us vouchers, gift cards, blah blah blah. I demanded to talk to a supervisor and they put me on hold and came back 2 minutes later telling me their supervisor gave them an approval to refund me 30% plus a resteraunt voucher PLUS a gift card totalling over the amount of $250 that it was a better deal. I said no so she raised it to refunding me 50% and this time added on "extra bid points". I kept saying no I just want my money on my CARD not vouchers and crap I won't use. She then promised me 75% but that was all she could go I finally caved in and I got a message in my gmail that I'm getting my refund 3-5 business days.

I did research and I found through google somewhere the same thing that some people used their third terms of service on them. I went back to their site and read it and called them back up and I stood my ground AGAIN for another hour. I got a different woman that answered I went off on her and read her her own TOS stating that I'm perfectly eligible for a refund. She once again tried to tell me otherwise and I just kept reading it to her. She went to her supervisor just like the last but I won :)

So now I'm curious... Did you actually get your refund back?

    did research and u

  • Since my complaint was filed almost two months ago, almost $10,000 more has been robbed from the unsuspecting public reported on this website alone. Thousands and thousands of dollars have been stolen by your company and your robotic reply is you will address any concerns? Then address this one.

  • Do not pay attention to this "zbiddy and a host of other paid shills. Not many people realize just how depraved and evil Zbiddy is. Zbiddy is so low that they even registered the domain called www.zbiddyscam.com where 'an independent' voice (yeah right) says that zbiddy is legitimate. Funny how all the Internet domain records for both zbiddy.com and zbiddyscam.com point to the same registrar - Mr Benjamin Grossman of Fresh Meadows, NY 11365

Yeah right independent my (Inappropriate Content Removed). All of this is part of the Modus Operandi of these Zbiddy people, they go to these message boards and pretend to be real people posting under fake names so they can plant a benefit of the doubt into those who are more gullible. They do this all over Youtube and other websites similar to Scambook. They also go so low as to create fake Facebook accounts by stealing real people's pictures and they create Facebook pages where they post as these fake people telling the same kind of propaganda and lies they do here. I call it their "Fake Social Environment" where they get to ask "questions" and "talk" to themselves as though they were different people. This SCAM goes well beyond the ripoff website called zbiddy.com They have armies of shills they hire (mostly from Asian countries as I have traced their IP) that go around these forums pretending to be real people that are not affiliated with zbiddy. I can tell you just how deep this rabbit hole goes if you really want to know. For starters the owners of Zbiddy are serial crooks ant this isn't the first scam they pulled. Mr Benjamin Grossman and his partner Gilboa "Gil" Merdinger used to run a website called "rockybids.com" where they executed exactly the same kind of SCAM. When the heat from BBB and FTC got to be too much, they shutdown rockybids without warning (in the process yanking whatever bids people had paid for). rockybids then re-emerged as zbiddy.com where they continue to SCAM and fleece the public.
