International boundaries

They contact you offering you a position in their company but it's all a lie.
-The phone number works but you can never get anyone on the phone except the guy who interviews you
-The certificate numbers advertised on their website are forged and don't belong to them.
-Their business name doesn't appear at any of the addresses provided.
-Their website was created in February 2012 and they claim the company has been operating since 1970.

This is a very well forged scam. Watch out!

  • Hi Neto, thanks for putting I am suppose to start training Thursday April 4th. Did they ask you for personal information or did you suffer any financial set backs? I receiced email from Lukas Dopfer HR person please let me know if you receiced emails from this person.

    Here is the email after the interview:
    We are glad to inform you that you are employed and you'll start
    probation period as Supply Chain Manager on behalf of our Company.

    I've attached an employment agreement to this e-mail - please read
    it carefully, print out, then sign and fax to
    (888) 337-3380 or scan and e-mail back to me. You will have to mail the
    documents in physical terms once your training/probation period is
    completed. Until that time both copies (our electronic/fax copy and
    your original one) have a legal power. To confirm your identity,
    please enclose scanned copy of your ID or passport, or driver's
    license. All the paperwork must be submitted by tomorrow.

    Please confirm receipt of this e-mail.

    This is great news, I am very excited on getting started. I will be glad to
    sign the contract and provide identification. However, I have a few
    questions that need answers before we proceed.

    I did some research online and there are a few things that came to my
    attention which I would need clarification on:
    - The website www.compassgmbh.com was created on Feb 12, 2012. Was there a
    previous website?
    - When searching for the certification numbers at www.bsigroup.com, the
    numbers FS35104 and EMS74432 don't show your company. Why?
    - When searching the address provided for the company (Wienerbergstrase 11,
    1100 Vienna, Austria) on google, there is a list of the companies that are
    at that address. However, Compass Electronics Australia Gmbh is not there.
    Do you operate under another name?
    -When calling the toll free number on the website (888 759 9699), I can't
    get anyone on the phone in any of the options. Are there specific times for
    each department?

    I hope you understand that I need to verify this information for my safety
    since we haven't had direct contact and our communication has been so far
    very limited.

    Unfortunately I was informed by my assistant that we can't accept your application due to limit of employees recruited at this time.
    We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. We should cancel our offer however you may try to apply again later. We will open the position again in 2-3 months to hire more SCM's..

  • I received it too they have not asked me for personal Information yet I will not give it to them now that I know this is all a scam thanks so much for saving me from fraud.

  • Compass recently changed their domain name so be careful. It is now CompassElectronics-gmbh Plus they want you to pay suppliers after they "transfer" funds to your personal account. Of course this is illegal and another proof of scam.

  • I was just contacted AGAIN from these people at Compass The Rep said he still needed my missing docs. I asked for his name there was a pause then he said Michael, what a lie. I had my brother inlaw who works for the FBI to do a search on this company. Without going into depth about this so called company, his advice STAY AWAY and BEWARE. DON'T SEND ANY info to them.

  • I've been working for this company over 6 months already. On same position but in Poland. I'm really worried about what I've read here and I need help to find out the truth. Has anyone suffered from employment with Compass? Is there an established case of using personal information or has someone been actually scammed?

  • I haven't worked on anything as of yet with this company. They don't explain anything until they get your info. I talked to the guy Michael to this morning and I requested additional info on the company. I also explained the bad reviews and complaints that his company has received. I copied and pasted a few to show him. I never heard back from them. I new I wouldn't.

  • Jen, at the side of my salary and payment schedule - I have no claims, everything is smooth. I receive a regular bonus every month, not really big but some extra income. As to out of pocket expenses - sometimes I have to buy some office supplies like paper, printer toner, also telephone expenses. I get reimbursed for that with each next payment against the receipts. I like the job, but what I have read here make me really worry. I'm trying to find out are there actual grounds to consider my employer as dishonest. I have shared this information with my friend and colleague who works in Denmark for them on same position and he now has worries too. We need some help from here to understand the reality.

  • Rj17, I coordinate deliveries to customers in Poland from vendors in europe and also from their warehouses. Sometimes deliveries to their warehouses from vendors who are in my regular usage. Some vendors are world-known, some are local, often they are a manufactures of specific product...within this 6 months nothing came to my attention to worry about. I never wanted to be involved in something dishonest.

    I'm not sure what is going on in your part of the world. But if you are getting a regular paycheck and you know for sure what, and who you are dealing with then maybe you should not worry. Just make sure the items that you are delivering are really what they are.

    The Certification numbers are fake I researched them and they belong to another company. You can research yourself and you will see. And from there everything else just starts falling apart.
