- We received a card in the mail saying our mortgage company possibly broke laws to get us in a home and derek smith and the phone and was very sharp! Knew exactly what to say! I have been in phone sales all my life mostly collections with wells fargo, i cant be fooled easily but this guy took me for a ride! $He got $1500.00 from me but thats it. Bad thing is he knew i have MS and dont have long on this planet and he didnt bat an eyelash. he said "dont worry Jack I would never do that to you"i tried looking up their website and its not there any longer. Derek called me and gave me a different phone number to reach him at. I dug further and found all kinds of complaints. I will not rest until i find this guy or sue the company he works for if any. When i initially called he picked up the phone and said "how did you get this number?"He said he is the senior loan exec and made me feel i got lucky and had somebody special. I feel so stupid. I'm calling the dept of treasury tomorrow, i will not stop until i get my money back. he has copies of everything!! drivers license, tax info, w2's just like all the info it takes to refinance.

- I want to apologize to RLC and Derek Smith for the complaint i listed. Problem was after speaking with Derek and sending all our docs and $1500.00 we decided to do some research. I read a complaint (which was later retracted) that freaked me out and i over reacted like a complete fool. I did not allow Derek Smith or Reality Law Center the chance to help us out. I can honestly say that every time i have called Derek Smith and left a message he called me back immeadiatly. We have only been working with Derek and RLC for a little over a month and things seem to be going along nicely. When i decided to go with the firm to help us my wife was against it but did allow me to do what i felt was going to help us in this desperate time. Wife did some research and had me convinced i had been taken. In no way has Derek Smith or RLC done anything to lead me to believe i have been taken. We are still in the process of working on what i hired Derek and the firm to do. I will followup this complaint with results they be negative or positive i just wanted to retract everything i said April 8th about Drek Smith and Reality Law Center i absolutely jumped the gun over reacted and for that i am a fool. Dont always believe everything you read on the internet. Because there are people like me out there who jump the gun over react and hurt reputations and peoples lives. My deepest apologies to Derek Smith and Reality Law Center for my complete foolishness.

- I was a fool to retract this complaint. Called my mortgage company today and after nearly 120 days have gone by and Derek Smith and Reality Law Center have been paid in full my mortgage company said no contact or application has been received from them. I retracted my statement because Derek Called me and was a little upset and convinced me he/them were in contact with my Mortgage co and "Everything is moving along fine" he said. 3,000 dollars later no contact. So i retract my retraction and i am going the distance on this one. I will do what ever i can to make sure this doesnt keep happening to others. I have an illness that will probably take me in the next few years and Derek knew this but he has no compassion. All he was thinking of was his wallet. Oh, their website is gone now so they are switching things up again. I spoke to Cal Attny gen office and they get over 10 complaints on this firm a week. The lady i spoke with said that was just the calls she takes. There are other operators that take calls and she is possitive they are getting the calls too. BIGTIME SCAM. We should be protected. This Weiner Attny has many complaints. How many times does this have to happen before the government gets involved. Or this guy gets his license taken away? I cant believe he comvinced me to retract my complaint. These guys are great talkers. Derek Smith was sooo convincing. Such a nice guy. Lucky im only a few months behind on my mortgage. I hope somebody out there is smart enough to do something about these attnys that prey on the ill and desperate. Contact your mortgage company if you need to modify your loan. Its free. No need for an attny to represent you unless your in foreclosure. DONT DO IT!! BIG TIME SCAM!!!

- The more I read about these people, the more hurt I am-I too have a terminal illiness as well as my husband. I believed them too. They are only concerned about the money. I hope they've (the California Authorties) have finally done something about them. I was told that they had obtained a Modification for me and I didn't need to pay my Mortgage until I recieved the paperwork (which never arrived). I didn't follow their advice and luckily I'm only a month behind in my Mortgage. I live on a fixed income, and catching up on that payment is hard. I was also told that the Bank never received contact from them at any time regarding a modification request. Your post confirms my suspicions about them.
