  • There's simply a lot of ways for these people to get your phone number. From different contests to job application forms. Could be from the national directory, too. But the most common would be through online registrations. When you sign up for something on the internet, do you read the terms and conditions before you agree to them? I never do that before, too. But I found out that these terms and conditions IN FINE PRINT can actually have portions which ask for your permission for them to share, sell or disclose your personal information to a third-party vendor or company. And as long as you put a check on the box, you already said yes. I learned about that when I posted my complaint at Callercenter.com. By then, it was already too late because those guys already have my information but at least, I learned how it happened and with it, I should be able to avoid becoming a victim to it in the future.
