Complaint 92006 Details

This website phished information from a data stream and piggybacked into my email when someone sent me an Interac debit payment.

Their phoney email came just minutes after the true transaction email came into my inbox - it was sent from the fake name and email address:

CitiBank Debit Card - [email protected]

and it contained the following:

Dear Customer,

Citibank Debit Card has temporarily locked your debit account.

Reason: 1.Unauthorized login attempts.
2.Billing failure.

You are required to complete an account update form so we can unlock your debit card account.

Please update your information with your debit card.

To start the update process click here : http://miasto.torun.pl/.55www77-credit-00-cards-08-citi-92-com/


Once you have completed the process, we will send you an email notifying that your
account is available again. After that you can access your account at any time.

The information provided will be treated in confidence and stored in our secure database.

If you fail to provide the required information your account will be automatically
deleted from the CitiBank database.

Fortunately I don't have Citibank, nor do I bank online, and I NEVER click links in email no matter who sends them so I wasn't sucked in by these crooks.

But they're obviously good at pulling info out of thin air because they caught a whiff of some money going somewhere and tried their scam following a measly $15 transfer - so they're desperate buggers too.

Anyway just posting in case they try to scam anyone else - and HEY CitiBank you should spend a few bucks and hunt them down for using your name!
