We were trying to sell our vehicle on kijiji and this guy - Justin Bekker - contacted us about buying it and at first it all seemed pretty good but then it started getting weird. first off, he was not even trying to barter down the price. and was asking to do the transaction through paypal. we had yet to agree on a final price when all of a sudden he says he would be transfering the funds into paypal immediately. he also said he would have to use a shipping company to come and pick up the vehicle as he did not live anywhere near us. in the midst of all this weirdness we get an email from what appeared to be from paypal saying that the funds were being deposited...but there was a hold on it because we had to send in funds to the shipping company and had to do it through western union. when we got these emails we sent them to spoof@paypal who told us they phishing.... the email looks like a paypal email...expect that the letters are capitalized. [email protected] and then when you look into it futher.... they end up being this [email protected] and [email protected]. the emails keep escalating threatening legal action and the FBI .

  • I am glad I came across your complaint because this same thing is happening with us tonight. In fact, here is the message we received from Chevry Rhoda who supposedly wants to buy our car or "this item" and will be offshore for the next two months..."It nice reading back from you with your PayPal account i want you to know that am highly interested in buying this item for my son but i have to notify you that i will be adding an extra $1,500 to the payment which i will be making to your account because i receive a mail from the pick up agent company right now that they won't be able to come for the picking up of the item unless i pay them the agent commission fee first in order to be able to schedule a pick up time and so there is no way i can pay them because they didn't accept PayPal in their company the only form of payments they accept is Money Gram money transfer and i tried to pay online but i will need a credit card which i didn't bring along, and there is no post office (there is usually a Money Gram section in most post offices) or any Money Gram agent offshore! so i have to ask you to help me with the pick up fees, so i will be adding their charges fees to the payment i will be making into your account shortly and will want you to send the $1,300 to my pick up agent address that will be given to you by PayPal through Money Gram money transfer and the remaining $200 will be used as the Money Gram charges, the Money Gram money transfer can be made at a post office near to you, there is always a Money Gram agent in most post offices or any Walmart Store.I will be making the payments shortly and will email you as soon as it has been done."
