I came into this dealership to buy a new car, Audi A3 AWD. The salesman (Chito Vongchampa) showed me a car they have in stock. He said that it's officially not new, but it's a "loaner" car - they loaned it to their customers having their cars serviced. It was 2011 A3 with 2700 miles on it. It was certified pre-owned, and had extended warranty of 100K miles/6 years. The final negotiated price was $33400.00
2 days ago while driving it in hot weather I attempted to turn on AC and it didn't work.
I took it to Audi certified mechanic - Import Domestic Auto Center in 317 CENTRAL ST
ACTON, MA 01720
ph: (978)635-1400
Upon checking the vehicle mechanic told me that the car suffered front end damage in the collision, was missing service stickers on the engine and that AC was not recharged after collision repairs. There're noticeable traces of body work (right front fender repainted, fog light grilles not aligned correctly on the driver side).
There was no record of any accidents on CarFax.
I negotiated the price of the car in good faith on assumption that representation given to me was correct - loaner car with relatively small amount of usage. Given this new information I wanted to return the car and get my money back.
I came in to the dealership and had a discussion with the Sales Manager Danilo Tonel. He told me that according to his papers the car was purchased by his dealership from third party (not a loaner), and they didn't have any record of accidents.
I demanded to return the car and get my money back, since in my view the car was misrepresented to me. In the end dealership flatly refused to refund the money. The only offer I got is to sell it back to them as a used car.

Update: 04/10/2012

After a call to AudiUSA, Bernardi contacted me. They admitted mistake, and offered to take the car back for the price paid minus $0.15/mile driven and provide a new car. So far new car is on order. Scheduled for delivery 07/12.
