I woke this morning to a alert from my banking account that I had only $20 in checking.
Problem: I have considerably more money than that & I'm conservative with spending.
So - I reported it to my bank (Capital Bank dba GreenBANK in Tennessee).
Seems that 3-4 others have reported the same transaction with in the past 24 hours. Our common link? Verizon Wireless' Online Bill Pay.
Apparently the clearing house is in London England and it is putting pre-auth holds on debit cards (as a credit charge) to the victims.
I have since reported it to the bank, verizon wireless, and the local law enforcement.
