I was checking by bank balance Thursday morning and noticed an unusual deposit of $300. When I looked into it I noticed it was from the Mass Street Group. A company I had NEVER heard of. I called the number listed on the transaction and spoke to a representitive there. I found out it is a payday loan company and that they had not only approved me for a loan but they went ahead and deposited the money without confirming with me if I wanted it or even agreed to the terms! I asked her how they could do that when I spoke to no one and did not even sign any docs. I was told that it is not necessary, that as long as they can verify my information they don't need to speak to me nor do I need to sign anything to approve AND deposit funds to my account. I told her to take the money back I did not want it and no longer needed it. I was told that they will take the money back the next day and I would not have any fees. I waited ALL day and by the close of business they money was still there. I attempted to call but they were closed and would not open again untill Monday morning, but the message said that I could leave a message with my rep and their extension could be found at the bottom of the e-mail I was sent. I looked, there was no extension, and in fact could not find a name until I opend all headers. I was angry and worried I would have fees after all. By early Saturday morning the funds were still there so I attempted to e-mail the rep. I say attempted because I was not successful. I sent a CC to the company e-mail that allegedly was a point of contact. But both have been returned as UNDELIVERABLE!!!!! The one to the company was returned right away, the one to my rep not until 24hrs later. The link to the loan document doesn't work whether you click on it OR copy and paste to my browser. I can't find the companies web page. I find nothing but complaints about this company. Shortly after I sent my e-mail I checked my account again and saw that the funds were finally sent back. But I fear I will have to monitor my account daily for quite some time to make sure they do not remove any more money than the $300. This company has shady business practices and should be put out of business. My next stop will be to call them Monday morning and get more information about where the company is located and what the actual name of it is so I can try to report them to the BBB.
