I recieved a phone call from Platinum Trust Card stating that I was pre-appproved fro a $9500 line of credit on a credit card. They knew my name, bank account number, and the first 5 numbers of my social security number. The person sounded professional and convinced me that based on my credit score I was pre-approved, so I was under the impression that I would be recieving a Visa card. I gave them permission to retrieve a one time activation fee of $89 from my checking account. When I finally recieved my card, it wasn't a Visa, instead it was a card similar to a department store card and could only be used on their website to make purchases. I did some investigating of my own and found several complaints about this particular company. I have not, and will not activate this card in the fear of them going into my acccount at will and taking money. I plan to close my account and open a new one.
