I applied on grants.gov for a federal rural business grant. I received a call from Kim Brown at 202-559-6991 about the grant and the amount I was looking to get. She gave me a case number. She then recommended that I have my grant written by Florida State Financial Planners. I then contacted FSFP and was put in contact with Stephen McDanials at 954-678-0687. We began our multiple conversations on the details of how I would be using the grant. He was very professional and seemed to give me clear information and advice. He then gave me some deadlines for the grant to be written and submitted. I was then given a contact number and expected delivery date of 2/20-24/2012. I was to have a certified bank check made out to Candy Benson for the amount of $490.00. I was to mail the check with the contact number on it to FSFP, (contact number), 2250 N.W. 114th Ave. Unit 1P Miami, FL 33172.
While this time has passed I have worked hard to prepare myself and my associates for a new business in devour only to find out I may have been ripped off. Non of the contact numbers work any longer, the only one I have found so far is 954-432-6873 that only has a voice mail and never returns messages. I’m at a loss at this point and don’t really know what to do.
