AuraVie popped up on one of the "freebie" pages and it said something on the order of a "free sample" for $4.95. Yesterday I saw the postal charges on my credit card for SERUM $1.93 and Lifestyle $3.02. Neiter charge said Auravie. That charge was dated 2/07/2012. There was no packing slip or even a paper to explain how to use it. So I thought that was well and good...I had only been able to use the product a couple of times....not enough to make a judgement on it. Today, a charge for SERUM was added to my Visa card for $97.88. I almost fell off my chair! There was a toll free number 8664851646. It doesn't really look like a phone number but it is. I called and told them I did not want a product that costs that much and I thought what I received was paid for by paying the postage. It said free sample. I did think it looked like more than a "sample" so was happy with what I got until I was billed for $97.88. The girl on the other end said my 10 days was up yesterday so according to their website I was liable for $97.88. I am an 81 yro. on a limited income and that was such a blow. She offered me a 45% discount and said that was all her supervisor would allow. The page is set up so that when you fill out your name, address, card no. etc. you don't really see the very dim print on the left, and it is directing you to "SUBMIT NOW". She sent me a link so that I could see it and yes it is there, but so deceptively dim that I didn't see it and I doubt anyone saw it. Do we have any recourse?

  • I had used a bank cc. Went in to the bank and they contacted the dispute department and so far it looks like I won't have to pay for this. Seems they are accustomed to these type of purchases over the internet. So far, I have been credited with the charges.
