Have purchased no less than 3 alledged swiss eta submariners from watchcartel. My first was purchased about 18 months ago. After a very few months, it stopped working completely. I was advised to send it back for repair, many weeks later they declared it had not been received. Eventually I offered them to pay half price for a replacement, with the low labour cost in China, the jumped at it.
It was obvious to me it was possibly 2nd grade because I noticed external faults very quickly. The ceramic bezel displayed considerble lateral movement. Also the winding crown would only
screw down at an angle. Within weeks the screw down thread on the winding collar had worn out, eventually, the winder may have got caught up with my clothing as I took my jacket off, because I last the complete winder. Once again, I sent my watch back to watchcartel@aol via (UK) GPO recorded delivery plus I emailed the tracking PO tracking # on January 4thy 2012. After no less than at least six emails, watchcartel refuse to acknowledge. I also tracked this parcel and UK GPO confirm this item was delivered to the address watchcartel advised me to use on jan 18th. In the meantime, I still had my third submariner (1980's) model that I purchase last summer. That also has stopped working just after I'd sent the other one off. UK repair shops refuse to touch these replicas, a rolex dealer has now got the power to confiscate these items. I took my ceramic model to two independent repair shops, they have the tool to remove the back plate. I agree the movement may be a swiss copy, but both shoips refused to help me. I refuse to send watchcartel yet a third watch, I have removed the bracelet & thrown the watch in the trash-bin. I feel you can agree I have lost at least $1000 when we talk about $395 at least for these swiss eta's. I have warned watchcartel I intend to go public at the way they have conned me. In the meantime, I don't want my email address advertised.
