I responded to an ad offering a room to rent. Nice room, private bath, takes the cats, the whole shebang. I get an e-mail back in exactly the same language as the resume e-mail. When I clicked the offered link, mind you, I thought this was legit, it transferred me to a site called Roomster. I already had a free account at Roomster, so I checked for the offered room. Guess what, it doesn't exist! I have been scouring Craigslist, and a local rag here in Dallas, for about the last 6 weeks, looking for a room to rent at a reasonable price. I'm finding that about 8 out of 10 ads, when you click the respond here link, sends you to this Roomster site. When you look for the room listing, it doesn't exist. I believe that this is not only false advertising, but also bait and switch. I am getting so disgusted, and my time is getting short, I'll probably just stay in the car!
