I was emailed a "notification" from the IRS that I was subject to a $10,000 fine for not filing my income tax return by 1/31/2012. I know from my work that this is a business deadline, and I do not own a business. Further, the email address listed in the "to" section was "[email protected]" and a "from" of "IRS Tax Notification Department [email protected]". Apparently some Italian dude's email was hijacked. There was a link in the email that I did not click, who knows what that would have done to my computer.
