I received a message on Etsy on July 15th from a photographer, asking if I would be interested in sending her one of my baby blankets for a photo shoot. I said I would send it if I was able to get it back, and that I got credit on her website for making it. I then told her I have a size 14 dress that I would like pictures of, if she had a model to fit it, I could send that too. She said it would fit the daughter of the family being photographed. So I sent both items, the dress ($60) and blanket ($30), out in the mail. She sent me a message saying she received them on the 26th.
On the 31st of August she sent me photos of the baby blanket, along with a message stating that she gave the mother of the baby the baby blanket as a birthday gift for the little girl. I said that was alright, even though that wasn't what we agreed upon, and asked about the dress.
On September 2nd, she told me the dress didn't fit the girl at the photo shoot, but she could try to find someone else. I said that that would work. I never got any message back from her, so on October 11th I told her I would need it back.
She then deleted her Etsy account, so I messaged her on Facebook. I asked her if she would be able to send my dress out, she told me she got it mixed up with another vendor. Two weeks later I asked if it was shipped out yet, and she told me she didn't have my address. I sent her my address, and also inquired as to why my Etsy link was not on her webpage as credit for the baby blanket. She told me she will go back and fix that, which I don't know if she did or not.
On November 20th, I sent her another message asking about the dress since I still had not gotten it back. She wrote back, "The dress was already shipped to the address you specified." I asked when, and she told me the 8th of November. I asked if she got shipping confirmation on the package, and she said that she did not because I did not ask for it. She told me she would check with her post office if something had happened with it on November 22nd. I received no other messages, so on December 12th, I asked if there was any news. Still no reply. On January 13th I emailed her stating if I don't receive the dress by the 25th, I would need $60 reimbursement for it. I got no reply. So I messaged her on Facebook, and got no reply. She finally told me to stop messaging her because she sent the dress, but in all my 8+ years of shipping/receiving packages, I have NEVER had one lost. I got nothing out of the 'deal' we made, and lost $90 worth of merchandise.
