Ordered DVD's back in 2007 and had no contact or communication with Columbia House since then. Just checked my credit and saw a collection account had been filed by Trident Asset Company on behalf of Columbia House, for $125.00. When I called Trident and told them I had received no prevous notice of any collection activity, they confirmed they had not tried to contact me, and but for my checking my credit I would have never known this collection account existed. When I asked why I was given no prior notice to rectify any possible problem, which to my knowledge there was no problem and I had not received any merchandise I had not paid for (who remember from 4 years ago??), the rep just read me some pre-fab script that did not answer my question. She told me to file a writen dispute or contact an attorney. Just found a class action against Columbia House, et al. filed last year and settled 2 months later! Another class action needs to be filed with regard to these erroneous credit reportings & resulting damage. What a racket these people have going.
